Egilsstadir is a small town in Iceland, with only 2.250 inhabitants. However, it is the largest settlement in the area of Austurland. The city has its own airport, Egilsstadir Airport, which has flights only to and from Reykjavik, operated by Air Iceland. Last, but not least, you could organize a hike to Skogar, a mountain close Egilsstadir, that offers spectacular views of the areas.
