Car Hire Siderno

Siderno is a small town located in Calabria, Italy and lies about 3 km from ancient Greek town of Locri. As per popular belief this particularly unique inland was probably founded around the 11th century by some folks from Locri, who had earlier fled from the area to save themselves from invasions. This town is also known as the “pearl” and is one of the most luxurious and well planned tourist resorts in the Italy.

Interestingly Siderno is also home to several powerful criminal clans some of which have now moved to Canada. These clans often have conflicts which have no impact on the general populations or tourists, it is still recommended to use car hire to get a safe commute through the troubled areas. As one may guess this city is filled with historic bars with Bar Aquila taking the crown as it serves the popular Italian martinis and a host of other snacks.

When it comes to having gourmet Italian food you cannot miss I Cornetti di Gino situated in the southwest corner of the city and accessible by a trusted car hire in the absence of public transport in the area. This place is known to have the best croissants in town and many tourists come to this bakery to taste the scrumptious delicacies. If you love the ocean then you should make a trip to the famed Siderno Marina to experience the sun, sand and everything in between. There are a lot of unfinished houses near the beach which serve as a memory of the golden era. There are also many old streets filled with fantastic examples of Italian architecture which are best roamed using a car hire.

You may also want to have a look at Siderno Superiore which is almost a ghost town now that most of the old population has moved out to the more modern part of the town. It will be an erring experience to see streets filled with empty houses.

Since most of the city is still plagued with mobs and their conflicts a lot of tourism opportunities have been lost for this city. But if you are willing to take the risk and are willing to spend a little more to stay at an upscale hotel then this city would offer you unseen insights into the mob culture and conflict. Let’s face it, seeing Godfather or Scarface does not even come close to the thrill you will experience zooming through the troubled street using a car hire while waiting to rendezvous with a mob boss.
