You will get to county Mayo by first landing at the Knock Airport which is at quite a distance from the main town. Being small and rural in size, the town still has a couple of places you can stay at. Being a small town, Knock doesn’t have very much to do there. However, on the contrary, the town is exceptionally pure in terms of scenic beauty. You are bound to get captivated by the fresh air, lush green and vibrant surroundings. The most visited site in the town is the Knock Shire, where, as they claim, apparitions of Virgin Mary and Her companions appeared in 1879. Since then, this has become a frequent site for tourist and also receives half a million devoted Christian pilgrims annually. Pope John Paul himself visited her a century later.

Apart from enjoying exceptionally bright starry nights, you could also visit pubs in nearby towns. About a drive of 20mins away in Galway or Sligo, you would find decent pubs and good spots to spend time at.

There are quite a few small restaurants in Knock. Hillside Grill (known for Grilled and Irish food), Asian Tandoori ( fine Indian food), Four Seasons at Knock House Hotel And Fairfield Restaurant (both Irish dine in) are the well known visited ones.
